EMPLOYMENT LAW NQ-2

My client is a well established regional law firm acting for a broad range of SME/OMBs, large regional businesses, and private clients which are both local and national, and they are very much in 'growth mode'. The firms Employment team focuses on respondent work, primarily contentious matters but also some corporate support and non-contentious advisory.

They're now looking for an additional lawyer and that might be a Spring 2025 NQ with some Employment in their training, or a relatively junior Solicitor (up to 2yrsPQE) who is looking to join an established team based in Leeds centre. Prior experience in Employment as a paralegal or legal advisor would be a useful base of knowledge to supplement more structured training. ILEX fee earners will also be considered.

If you're a September qualifier then by all means apply, and timescales can be discussed - waiting for the right NQ candidate may be an option, or maybe it'd be possible to transfer the remainder of your Training Contract. It is worth a conversation if you're keen to secure an Employment Law role.

This is a hands-on firm where you'll have client contact from the outset and responsibility for your own files at your level. They're looking for someone who wants to be a problem solver for clients, and who is a confident communicator who'll want to get stuck in to the departments business development initiatives.

Personality is important and having a Yorkshire/pragmatic outlook wont do you any harm!! Whilst respondent experience is preferred, candidates from an applicant background will most definitely be considered providing you're wanting to be acting for employers going forwards and have enthusiasm to learn.

Brooke Thornham Consulting advertisements use PQE levels purely as a guide to the level of experience required for the role and this does not prohibit applications from candidates who are able to demonstrate the necessary skills and experience. We aim to respond to enquiries as soon as possible but if we have not contacted you within 5 days then unfortunately on this occasion your application has not quite met the requirements of our client closely enough.
