Tony has been in recruitment since 1997, initially with Hays plc recruiting accountants, before switching to legal recruitment in 1999 with Sacco Mann. He has built strong relationships across the North in Private Practices large and small, acting for lawyers at all levels including partners.
Having co-founded Florit Brooke in 2007 he now leads Brooke Thornham Consulting and enjoys the hands on involvement in fee earning as well as having strategic responsibility for the business going forwards.
Tony is known for being refreshingly honest, but demonstrates time and again that the foundation of this approach is his detailed market knowledge and meticulous attention to supporting the candidate and client.
Outside of work he is learning electric guitar and is gradually acquiring several instruments along the way, most recently a Guild Bluesbird to add to a Fender Jaguar.. a Sheraton 2.. a Mini Maton (bought second hand from a chap who lives in a windmill).. and a Norman acoustic.. and he always has his next guitar in mind.
He enjoys weekends away as often as possible, and bakes exceedingly good Christmas cakes for a substantial list of family and friends, and always one for the office!

Gemma commenced her career at a reputable Lancashire law firm and gained invaluable skills and experience that have served her well in her role as a specialist legal recruiter. Gemma launched her recruitment career almost 10 years ago and has specialised in legal recruitment for the past 7 of those, focussing on qualified recruitment at all levels across Yorkshire and the North West. Her client list is wide-ranging and covers a variety of different types of law firms, from well-regarded regional practices to international practices.
Prior to moving into legal recruitment Gemma also spent time working in the field of organisation development with large public and private sector clients in relation to their leadership development projects. This experience has given Gemma further depth of knowledge when advising law firm clients in relation to their recruitment and talent management strategies.
Gemma’s approach is thoroughly consultative, she prides herself in being authentic and trustworthy and is highly recommended for these qualities by candidates and clients alike. She is particularly passionate about client relationships and networking and so within Brooke Thornham she takes a lead as regards our marketing and sponsorship initiatives and is heavily involved in managing our valued relationships with the Junior Lawyers Divisions throughout the region.

Outside work Gemma enjoys running and has taken part in numerous 10km, half marathons and a full marathon on behalf of a range of charities including Women’s Aid, Age UK, Alzheimer’s Research UK and the Leeds St Gemma’s Hospice.

After passing the Legal Practice Course, Harriet spent three years working at Walker Morris, servicing clients in the financial services industry. This gave her first-hand experience of both the legal and financial services sectors.
She joined Florit Brooke in 2015 as a Resourcer and has remained as a Consultant through the transition to Brooke Thornham Consulting in 2018. Her focus is Yorkshire and the North East where she works with a number of regional and niche firms.
Outside work, Harriet has a passion for sport and regularly plays netball for a number of local teams, enjoys Crossfit and takes part in long distance runs for charity.

Frances is a former BBC Producer and prior to that worked in Recruitment in PwC. She is trained in the use of psychometrics and other recruitment tools and has designed assessment centres. In addition to extensive development and coaching experience, she has a degree in Psychology and a PGC in Career and Talent Management.
Frances takes a client centred approach to her career coaching and uses solution focused techniques. She is passionate about her work and her style is warm, empathetic, flexible and supportive. She takes an intuitive approach though and will challenge you where needed.
