Tony has been in recruitment since 1997, initially with Hays plc recruiting accountants, before switching to legal recruitment in 1999 with Sacco Mann. He has built strong relationships across the North in Private Practices large and small, acting for lawyers at all levels including partners.
Having co-founded Florit Brooke in 2007 he now leads Brooke Thornham Consulting and enjoys the hands on involvement in fee earning as well as having strategic responsibility for the business going forwards.
Tony is known for being refreshingly honest, but demonstrates time and again that the foundation of this approach is his detailed market knowledge and meticulous attention to supporting the candidate and client.
Outside of work he is learning electric guitar and is gradually acquiring several instruments along the way, most recently a Guild Bluesbird to add to a Fender Jaguar.. a Sheraton 2.. a Mini Maton (bought second hand from a chap who lives in a windmill).. and a Norman acoustic.. and he always has his next guitar in mind.
He enjoys weekends away as often as possible, and bakes exceedingly good Christmas cakes for a substantial list of family and friends, and always one for the office!

Gemma commenced her career at a reputable Lancashire law firm and gained invaluable skills and experience that have served her well in her role as a specialist legal recruiter. Gemma launched her recruitment career almost 10 years ago and has specialised in legal recruitment for the past 7 of those, focussing on qualified recruitment at all levels across Yorkshire and the North West. Her client list is wide-ranging and covers a variety of different types of law firms, from well-regarded regional practices to international practices.
Prior to moving into legal recruitment Gemma also spent time working in the field of organisation development with large public and private sector clients in relation to their leadership development projects. This experience has given Gemma further depth of knowledge when advising law firm clients in relation to their recruitment and talent management strategies.
Gemma’s approach is thoroughly consultative, she prides herself in being authentic and trustworthy and is highly recommended for these qualities by candidates and clients alike. She is particularly passionate about client relationships and networking and so within Brooke Thornham she takes a lead as regards our marketing and sponsorship initiatives and is heavily involved in managing our valued relationships with the Junior Lawyers Divisions throughout the region.

Outside work Gemma enjoys running and has taken part in numerous 10km, half marathons and a full marathon on behalf of a range of charities including Women’s Aid, Age UK, Alzheimer’s Research UK and the Leeds St Gemma’s Hospice.

Simon has 3 years recruitment experience in the legal sector.
Prior to moving into legal recruitment, Simon qualified as a Solicitor at a national insurance firm. He gained 10 years’ plus experience in a wide range of insurance based disputes and litigation.
Simon spent 3 years with Sellick Partnership, working as part of the private practice team covering the South East before joining Brooke Thornham as a Recruitment Consultant, in order to focus on a local market. Simon prides himself in the professional and trustworthy reputation he has built with candidates and clients alike.
Outside work, Simon can usually be found lifting weights in the gym or supporting his beloved Liverpool FC.

Helena has entered the recruitment sector directly having graduated with LLB Law from the University of Leeds in 2018. Whilst studying she has worked in the leisure sector and in sales, and also enjoyed work experience in legal environments. She has chosen a move to legal recruitment to give her plenty of client contact in a competitive environment.
Outside of work she has a passion for cross country racing and regularly takes part in the Leeds parkrun. Helena enjoys reading in her spare time and her favourite author is Sebastian Faulks. She is also a member of the Reading Revolutionaries, a charity devoted to the promotion of literature and the improvement of secondary school children’s reading abilities. Helena is a polite and friendly individual, who is committed to ensuring that all legal professionals receive helpful and honest guidance regarding their career choices.

Having graduated in Law & French and then gone on to complete her LPC, Katie spent 13 years in legal recruitment at Sacco Mann. There she worked as a Principal Consultant as part of the private practice team covering the Yorkshire & North East regions. Over the years she established a number of very strong relationships with clients and candidates and she thoroughly enjoyed her career throughout this time.
Having recently decided that it was the right time for a change in direction, Katie has joined Brooke Thornham as a performance coach and mentor on a part-time basis. She brings with her an enormous amount of experience and sector knowledge and helps all members of the business with their focus, performance, and skills development through bespoke training. She also places a huge amount of importance on health and wellbeing which in the recruitment environment is something which needs to be focused on. Katie has recently completed her qualification in Reiki healing and alongside working for us she is starting out in building her career in Reiki and holistic wellbeing.
Fitness, nutrition and mindfulness play a big part in her life – once a convenience food, chocolate (minstrels, specifically family-size!!) and cocktail lover – she now enjoys swimming, yoga, pilates and regular dog walks in the countryside, as well as cooking lots of yummy nutritious food. She enjoys “smothering” her dog Heston with love, spending time with her crazy nephews and reading novels. Katie is a bit of a dreamer and a total romantic, and is obsessed with flowers, pretty shiny things (a total magpie!) and crystals. Her daily mindfulness practice comes in various forms and more recently takes the form of the “Durrell’s” where she can switch off completely and dream of living abroad by the sea, surrounded by arty types, home grown produce and a menagerie of animals around her as she bakes . Heaven!

Having missed the legal industry, Katie decided it was time to return and has joined Brooke Thornham Consulting as a Recruitment Consultant.
Outside of work, Katie is a real foodie so enjoys eating and cooking (something she is learning to be better at) as well as partaking in the odd office bake off! She thoroughly enjoys her holidays, having recently visited Las Vegas and Mexico and has a strong interest in various music genres.
