The Leeds Law Society, Florit Brooke and BPP University are collaborating to offer some one-to-one mentoring and general advice to Leeds trainee solicitors looking for an NQ legal role in 2017.
The event is aimed at second year trainee solicitors and will provide them with help in securing a suitable NQ position this coming summer or autumn.
The event will include advice from recruiting partners, qualified solicitors and representatives from Florit Brooke.
The aims are to:
- Give practical help on CV construction and composition for NQ legal job applications;
- Provide practical information about transferring the skills trainees will have acquired on their training contracts into NQ positions;
- Give trainees the opportunity to discuss legal career aspirations with their peers and those with more experience in the local market.
The event will include presentations and advice from a specialist legal recruiter and already qualified solicitors.
There is also the option to take part in a ‘CV clinic’ – where solicitors and representatives from Florit Brooke will be offering first hand advice, and a question and answer session on each delegate’s own CV in the form of a 15-minute, confidential, one-to-one session. If you want to take part in the latter then draft CV’s need to be submitted confidentially to the Leeds Law Society in advance of the event.
The CV clinic is optional and the number of sessions will be limited, and are only allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
