The Leeds JLD launch 2017 – a feast of fun, food and new faces on the Leeds legal scene

Who says you can’t party on a weeknight? Not the Leeds Junior Lawyers’ Division. Last Thursday night saw the annual Leeds JLD launch event take place at Manahatta bar in the heart of the city, with Florit Brooke as sponsors and hosts for the fourth year running.

The annual JLD launch event is an ideal opportunity for junior lawyers of all disciplines to meet others in the Leeds legal scene. This year’s Leeds launch was attended by more than 80 junior lawyers from a variety of Leeds law firms, chambers and in-house legal teams.

In addition to food, drinks, networking opportunities, and a business card champagne draw (won this year by Chris Machin of Zenith Chambers, pictured below with Florit Brooke legal recruiter Gemma Crossley), the launch event also saw the release of the 2018 edition of Florit Brooke’s celebrated NQ Solicitors’ Survival Guide, and attendees were given access to the guide ahead of its official publication date. Newly reviewed and refreshed to include only the most up-to-date information, the guide is a goldmine of useful advice and insights from experienced legal recruitment professionals, and gives an overview of everything junior lawyers need to consider when looking for their first NQ job.

The Florit Brooke team would like to thank everyone at the JLD for continuing to partner with us on their Leeds activities. We hope everyone enjoyed themselves as much as we did, and we look forward to seeing you all again soon at another great venue.

We’re also working in partnership with Junior Lawyers’ Divisions in York, Sheffield and Hull to deliver a variety of events over the coming months. Sign up to our monthly NQ Bulletin (coming in January) for more information, or follow us on Twitter and LinkedIn for updates.

If you’re not yet a member of the Leeds JLD, you need to be!
