Junior lawyers go Plonkers for festive jumpers at the York JLD Christmas party

York is a beautiful city, and even more so at Christmas, so we were delighted to join the York Junior Lawyers’ Division at their annual Christmas party again this year.

Florit Brooke at the York Junior Lawyers' Division Christmas party 2017The event took place at Plonkers Wine Bar & Bistro on the river Ouse. As always, it was a relaxed gathering where guests could enjoy free drinks, great food, and have a chance to catch up with other legal professionals in York. We also thanked Laura Schofield, the outgoing chair of York JLD’s committee, for her contribution over the years and we wish her well in her future endeavours at the Yorkshire Law Society.

There were some interesting entries for this year’s Christmas jumper competition, including a notable mention for the Chewbacca-inspired entry. However, this year’s winner (pictured here with Florit Brooke’s Gemma Crossley) was Leanne Dalby of Hague & Dixon with a hand decorated jumper including baubles that detailed different practice areas – fantastic effort, Leanne, and we hope you enjoy the bottle of Veuve Clicquot.

We hope you all enjoyed yourselves as much as we did, and we look forward to seeing you again in 2018. Keep an eye on the York JLD website to find out about their upcoming events, or contact us for more information on our current portfolio of jobs for junior lawyers.
