Rebranding a company is a nerve-racking experience, even when you’re well-known and trusted in your industry. Which is why it’s encouraging, at the halfway point in our very first sales year, to see that our hard work is leading us in the right direction.
There’s a great deal of uncertainty involved in re-positioning a business under a new name. Will the industry recognise us? Do we need to prove our credentials from scratch? And how do we demonstrate that we’re still the same enthusiastic bunch of legal recruitment experts with the same dedication to placing great candidates?
At the close of our first six months of trading as Brooke Thornham Consulting, I am very happy to say that our worries haven’t come true: the regional legal sector has welcomed us under our new name, and we’ve hit our initial half-year targets. With relationships built and placements made at all levels in locations across the North of England, I can report strong business growth, high levels of client satisfaction, and a really positive response to our work from the regional legal industry.
Our placements in our first six months have shown the breadth and diversity of the market we serve: we’ve filled roles across the region, from Leeds and Manchester to Hull and Huddersfield, at all levels from Newly Qualified to Partner.
And not only have our clients been satisfied with our services: they want to keep us, too. Since we relaunched as Brooke Thornham in April, we’ve renewed our ‘preferred supplier’ listing with some of Yorkshire’s largest and most prestigious law firms – Eversheds, Addleshaw Goddard, Womble Bond Dickinson, DLA Piper, Squire Patton Boggs, CMS, Mills & Reeve and more – and there’s no better feeling than knowing we’re able to service the market at the highest level. It isn’t all about the big brands for us, of course we have lots of ongoing regional client work too where we’ve got direct lines of communications to the partners and heads of department, and we enjoy that access to their decision makers.
We’re a boutique independent brand trying to make an impression in a highly competitive market, so to be trusted by some of the region’s finest practices is a welcome vote of confidence in the services we offer.
I’d like to thank our candidates and clients for continuing to choose our services, and say a big thank you to my amazing team of legal recruitment pros for meeting and exceed our clients’ needs – it’s a people business and I can see the effort my team make, which is fantastic.
At Brooke Thornham, we always strive to do the right thing, in our clients’ best interests rather than to our own ends. We value honesty over empty promises; building lasting relationships over chasing revenue at all costs; and listening and developing a dialogue as opposed to charging in and insisting we know your firm better than you do. Those values aren’t going to change, in fact it is our mission to keep delivering that approach to a wider client base as we move Brooke Thornham forward as a business through the rest of this year and beyond. We’ll be looking to add new people and to expand our coverage, but the platform of that is our candidates and clients so we’ll not be getting complacent!
You’ll find Brooke Thornham listed as a ‘preferred supplier’ for many veteran law firms across the region, helping them seek out and recruit the best legal talent in Yorkshire and the North. If you’d like to add us to your list of approved legal recruiters, don’t hesitate to get in touch with us.
