We heard York had been crowned Britain’s most festive city, and what better opportunity to experience it for ourselves than joining the Junior Lawyers’ Division once again for their Christmas party?
Attired in the customary Christmas jumpers, we joined guests at Plonkers Wine Bar & Bistro, who had put on a fine spread of festive favourites – you can’t go wrong with pigs in blankets – and free drinks for guests.
It’s always a really enjoyable event; relaxed, festive and a great opportunity for the city’s young legal professionals to catch up over a bite to eat and a Christmas drink.
But enough about the food and drink, we hear you cry: what about this this year’s Christmas jumper competition winner?
We won’t keep you in suspense any longer: this year’s winner was Rebecca Bannister of Langleys, whose googly-eyed reindeer won us over. A well-deserved recipient of the champagne prize, we’re sure you’ll agree.
Our thanks go to JLD chair Abbas Khan and the rest of the committee for organising another great event, and we’ll look forward to continuing our involvement with the York JLD group in 2019. If you’d like to get involved in York JLD events, take a look at their website, and contact us if you’d like information about our current portfolio of jobs for junior lawyers.
