We’re looking to recruit to a leading Charities Law team, based in Leeds centre but operating for clients spread across the UK including in London. Having recruited to this unit several times in the past we know that whilst charities and non-profit exposure is always of interest, more likely will be that there’ll be a lawyer from a corporate or commercial or projects background who has a good range of non-contentious drafting and advisory skills. This firm does appreciate strong academics, and a good number of its lawyers have been with larger brands at some point in their career which is often a useful reassurance of a candidates past exposure.
Charities as a sector focus encompasses a broad range of legal advice, and hence the range of backgrounds which could successfully transpose to a charities career. In this particular instance any experience of renewable energy projects would be of interest but it isn’t absolutely essential
Technical experience is important, but it will need to be backed by a genuine interest in acting for charity clients, and focusing on quality of work and having a real commitment to client care. Reputation is everything in the charities field and so this firm sets a high standard which it needs to maintain, and new recruits will share that quality commitment.
Likely PQE level is 4yrsPQE+, but candidates either side of this will be considered on the merits of their experience and their enthusiasm for a charities law career.
An exciting opportuity with a leading team in a firm which has a unique and enviable collegiate culture.
