Location: Leeds or Sheffield
Salary: Competitive
Our client is a well established Yorkshire firm, enjoying a decent ranking in Legal 500, and is a recognised brand across the region by virtue of its three office locations. Clients include a broad range of large businesses with UK wide operations, as well as local SME/OMB’s in Yorkshire so they have a healthy platform from which to grow. They have space in their offices to expand further and are committed to sustained growth and maintaining their momentum in the market.
They are looking to recruit into the Insolvency team at Senior Associate/Partner level and this is very much a strategic hire. You will be coming from a recognised commercial practice or niche insolvency team, and will have a mixed skills base in both contentious and non-contentious insolvency work. Whilst a following is not an prerequisite, a good contact base and footprint in the insolvency space is required.
Suitable candidates may be an existing partner wanting a lateral move for a fresh challenge, or prospectively an experienced non-partner lawyer who is wanting that step up in terms of profile and standing. This role carries a lot of profile and a high level of autonomy in the firm, as you will be the the lead partner for the Insolvency and Corporate Recovery offering. Technically you’ll be expected to be proficient in a broad range of traditional insolvency work with 7yrsPQE+. As important as your technical confidence is your ability and willingness to take a lead in marketing and profile raising in Yorkshire working your own professional network and also plugging into this firms contacts list and working closely with colleagues in other commercial disciplines. (Senior lawyers who’d perhaps hope to bring other fee earners with them will definitely be of interest.)
This represents a unique opportunity for an Insolvency Solicitor looking for a senior opportunity at Partner level and/or a defined route to partnership. With a fully engaged partner group supporting this appointment, you will be joining a firm with a genuinely collegiate culture, and which welcomes new ideas and energy from employees at all levels. This firm is a bit different, and will present an attractive alternative to candidates who may be with larger brands which are loosing their regional appreciation and commitment as they get larger.
A fantastic opportunity for a proven Insolvency Solicitor who is looking for an ambitious regional firm with plenty of opportunity.
