This form is sent to all individuals who make contact with Brooke Thornham Consulting for career advice or in connection with a prospective job move. It covers certain essential information required by our clients and/or the law regulating recruitment, and defines the relationship between us.

Please return this information as soon as possible, together with the copy documents requested which relate to your immigration and employment status, and qualifications.

All information provided by you will be processed in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulations (“GDPR”), national laws implementing GDPR, and our Privacy Notice which can be viewed on our website. We will only share your personal details or CV to third parties when you have provided your express consent for us to do so.

    When returning this completed form, please ensure you provide clear copies of the following necessary documents (if possible).

    • For UK Solicitors, Barristers and Legal Executives: a current Practising Certificate (or equivalent).
    • For paralegals and trainee solicitors: an LPC / CPE / Degree certificate as appropriate.
    • For lawyers qualified in EU member states and also outside of the EU: their local practising certificate (or equivalent) and ideally evidence that the Qualified Lawyers Transfer Test (or QLTS) has been passed.

    Section 4 – Your Relationship with Brooke Thornham Consulting

    Please read carefully and sign and date below to confirm your understanding and agreement.

    1. Brooke Thornham (“we”/”us”/”our”) are providing you with permanent and/or temporary/contract recruitment services (where appropriate), acting as a recruitment agency under
    The Employment Agencies Act 1973.

    2. You have authorised us to pursue employment opportunities for you and have either discussed your preferences with us so we can appraise you of opportunities in the market, or you are interested in a specific role which is being handled by us. Your search preferences can be varied in the future if you notify us when your requirements change.

    3. You acknowledge that any references we or our clients make to levels of post qualification experience in our job descriptions, role profiles, or advertisements (in print or on the internet) are purely for guidance and candidates with more or less experience are equally welcome to apply.

    4. We will use reasonable endeavours to (a) give you information about roles with our clients (e.g. employer, specialisation, location) as and when they arise and (b) ensure the roles are suitable for you based on the information you have provided to us regarding your qualifications and experience.

    5. We will not release your CV to a client without your prior express consent. Your oral consent is sufficient for this purpose. However, we may require you to provide us with written consent.

    6. You will keep confidential the identity of our client and the details of any opportunity that we are pursuing on your behalf, since this information is commercially sensitive and may adversely affect our client’s business and your prospects of receiving an offer of employment.

Where it is necessary to do so in order to make an application to them, or by virtue of us having already placed you with a client, you authorise Brooke Thornham to share your personal data and records with that client in accordance with GDPR, national laws implementing GDPR and our Privacy Notice.

    9. You appreciate that as part of their recruitment process our clients may subsequently perform their own necessary pre-employment screening checks. You understand that our clients own privacy notice’s may vary from that of Brooke Thornham’s and it is their obligation to make their privacy policy available to you as part of their recruitment process.
