The Leeds Law Society Annual Dinner seems to come around ever more quickly these days, and this year Florit Brooke returned with another lively table of guests at a much larger event than in previous years.
Some 300 dignitories and guests gathered at Aspire on 3rd March to enjoy a champagne reception, followed by speeches, dinner and light entertainment (which we seem to recall also included what we think was a maiden appearance of ‘the conga’).
As usual, a broad cross section of the Leeds business community was represented at the event, with tables taken by firms including DAC Beachcroft, Irwin Mitchell, Gordons, Shulmans and Mills & Reeve, as well as relative newcomers to Leeds, Weightmans, Gateley and Bevan Brittan.
Speeches were made by Leeds Law Society President, Colin Gilbert and VIP guest, Law Society Vice President, Robert Bourns and the President’s charity this year was Epilepsy Action which benefited generous donations on the night.
Tony, Gemma and Harriet from the Florit Brooke team shared a convivial evening with some of our friends from Freeths, Blacks, Harrogate Family Law, Gordons, DWF and Pinsent Masons and we’d like to thank them for contributing to what was an enjoyable evening and also Jane Hope for organising such a successful event.
Given the enthusiasm from the committee and great success of evenings such as these it is evident that the Leeds Law Society is well positioned to enjoy a high level of support in future years.
